and I am not quite sure whether I will stay with it.
After a long search, with many suppliers, my choice fell on the Lechgold BH-19/4L baritone.
The baritone is an import from the Far East, made according to the Czech model.
The joints on the push rods have been converted to German minibals by Musikhaus Kirstein. The instrument is checked and adjusted. A test certificate is included with the instrument. There is also a really good, light case with backpack carrying set. (It is not a huge cold foam molded case as is the case with other imports).
In the store itself, I was able to test the instrument as much as was possible with my "tuba approach".
The salesmen are really very nice and helpful. An instrument maker explained all the details of the baritone to me.
What I noticed immediately was that the baritone is very well tuned. Soldered joints are cleanly processed, the cables are mounted parallel,
nothing jams, no distortion.
The instrument is tight, good compression. The response is, for me, easy and direct. I can't say anything about the varnish quality yet, there are very minor finish flaws, from polishing, but hardly visible. Gimmik; laser engraved valve covers and a discreet lettering "LECHGOLD" on the bell.
The included mouthpiece is not good to play. The instrument is also offered as a set with a Klier JK mouthpiece and some accessories.
The machine goes a little heavy, that gives itself perhaps yet.
In the meantime I've been playing the instrument for a few weeks and I'm very satisfied, the valves were reworked again by the music store and run without any problems. The sound is just great.
Conclusion (very personal):
For beginners, switchers, "second instrument seekers", recreational musicians with a smaller budget, a good choice.
The baritone tunes very well and makes a high-quality impression.
I would buy the instrument again.
The service from Musik Kirstein is convincing in every respect.

The workmanship and intonation are good. The response is a little more difficult. All in all, I am satisfied. It is certainly suitable as a beginner's instrument.
