Clip condenser microphone for wind instruments!

The IM-20 is a high-quality condenser clip microphone especially suitable for wind instruments. It is the perfect choice if you want to enjoy maximum freedom of movement during playing. The microphone is simply clamped to the rim of the bell and the capsule with the movable gooseneck can be set to the desired position. The timbre can be varied depending on positioning.

The IM-20 can be connected either with the included phantom power adapter directly to a mixer or powered by a Pronomic pocket transmitter. With much wind noise, use the supplied windscreen.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this microphone, neutral sound and very suitable for vintage saxophones with dark sound, slightly medium but in the average of the clip mics. It did not give me any problems with noise of pads or mechanics, no more than the others. I am very satisfied, even the packaging is very well cared for. The only flaw is the section of the wire, really too thin! Why save on this one detail? With a thicker wire, you could compare with microphones of much higher value! Too bad but it remains with a few tricks a great microphone, I recommend it, you can put it in the sax case for any eventuality!

This mic is not suitable for brass players, too sensitive, overdrive, valve noise, plop.

I bought this microphone out of curiosity to pick up our drums with it. The first impression is surprisingly good. Have taken the toms, which sound satisfactory to me, with the snare it was good. The sensitivity of the microphone is really great, very high input signal which is positive for me. The frequency range is quite balanced. There are certainly much higher quality mics but here the price and the performance is really class.
Unsuitable for trumpet!

I strongly advise against this mic for miking trumpet. First, it has effectively too low a limiting sound pressure level, so it overdrives on loud notes.
In addition, pop noises can be heard every time the notes are blown, even with the "windshield"...
For other instruments, the mic could certainly be a cheap alternative, but for trumpet it is completely unsuitable...
