The WH-701L Bb Horn is the perfect instrument for both beginners and music students. With a smaller angle between the lead pipe and bell, it is ideal for children ages 9-14. The WH-701L is about 25 percent more compact than the standard horn, making it easy to handle and play. It may be compact, but this horn has no trouble keeping up with its larger counterparts. The smooth nickel silver outer slides and the detailed workmanship ensures an outstanding, warm sound. The bell, tuning slides and mouthpiece are all made of brass.

Such a children's horn is sufficient for the beginning, even if the intonation is rather moderate. The children take the g1 with the 1st and 3rd valve and the c2 was too low on this instrument. By the time this tone is reached, the children are usually big enough for a normal and then higher quality instrument.
