For the price a great DMX controller.
especially to emphasize: really good buttons with decent pressure point, not this "soft touch" crap, where you never know whether you have now pressed or not!
Also very useful is the USB port, so you can easily back up and restore your tedious work. On/off switch on the device, unfortunately not a matter of course anymore.
Another plus point is the MIDI output, for me an important purchase argument.

I deduct one star, because the device looks a bit unattractive with its lateral rack plates when used on a table. Here other manufacturers have found additional solutions, such as removable rubber cover.
In addition, the device could use more chaser memory locations (only 6 available).

For all people, who want to control around 10 fixtures in a simple way via Midi, it is great. For larger projects must then be significantly more money on the table.

I have worked so far with the Scenesetter, 4 spotlight groups with 6 DMX channels each, there is a separate controller for each channel.
Now that we have purchased an additional spotlight (only for breaks or object lighting), we also needed another controller for this, the Scenesetter is with its 4 x 6 channels with the 4 spotlight groups at the end.
If it stays with the one spotlight, a simple 5 or 6 channel controller would have sufficed. The price difference to the Showlite DMX, even more as B-stock, would have been only small, so better provide for further devices and get for little money more a very universally applicable device.
Compared to the Scenesetter, the faders and buttons on the Showmaster seem to me to be much less valuable, in my opinion suitable for (quite frequent) occasional use, certainly not for the rough everyday stage.
What I haven't discovered yet: A button to synchronize the step speed, like the Scenesetter has - with it I manually synchronize the step speed with the music - has the advantage compared to the music control that it is volume independent, so the lights continue to dance during quiet passages just the same.
Because of its multitude of possible channels and especially the fact that you can change the DMX-assignment, the Showlite has more technical possibilities than the Scenesetter, which only works with four 6-channel devices. A conversion to spotlights with a 4th color (amber) or moving heads would be feasible with the Showlite at any time.
I can't say anything about programming (yet), because as I said, I only need a manual 6-channel control at the moment. The poor guy is of course totally underchallenged with it.
Conclusion: Very versatile device at a sensational price, with the purchase you certainly do nothing wrong.
Probably not a device for life, if you use it often and the direct access options are limited with 8 faders, of course, because you have to switch to the right level before.

Since I'm brand new to things DMX. I can not say much in general. Find the controller but very easy to use. However, you should know that 16 channels are permanently programmed. Accordingly, must also set its lighting. It was a return but you do not notice anything. Only two small spots.
I am satisfied.

The part does what it should and inexpensive

The controller arrived quickly shipped and undamaged.
Operation is simple and good once you understand the principle.
Instruction manual could be better, but with various explanations via YouTube it went well.
Purchase decision and also subsequently the biggest plus point is the possible music control via RCA input.

I will have to settle for the one in English. Only in Italy they provide product instructions in a dozen other languages .

I purchased this device on the advice of a colleague. The LED spotlights I had were from a large online supplier. I couldn't get the entire DMX control system to work. I then contacted the Kirstein service department. They couldn't get the operator to work because they didn't have the right lamps. So, LED spotlight back to the online provider. On the advice of the service staff at Kirstein, it would be better if they bought a specific type of LED spotlight. Recommendation accepted and ordered at a price of €247.00. Then they were in front of me. Connected via DMX cable and connected to the operator. The spotlights did everything, but not the way I wanted them to. So I called the nice lady from the service department and asked for help. After a lot of back and forth, he didn't get any further. I had the impression that he first had to familiarize himself with the operating instructions. We got nowhere. I have now sent the great operator back to Kirsten and am waiting for a refund. It has been a long process. I now have the four LED spotlights and operate them in manual mode. I am not enthusiastic about the intensity of the spotlights. The ones from the online supplier were better. In conclusion, I can summarize: In my opinion, this was all about selling their own products. The service was very helpful. But it didn't do me any good. It just cost me a lot of time.
