The sound can be improved considerably by changing the crossover and filling the cabinet with polyester batting.
The original crossover consists of a 1µF MKT capacitor in front of the tweeter.
Instead of the 1µF solder a 1.5µF capacitor, a 0.18mH coil in parallel to the tweeter and a 0.15mH coil in series to the bass. Plus for the tweeter has to be soldered in front of the coil.
