Tried a 5 string a while ago, it had no extra options for me, I did however really liked that soundgear feel. that neck makes for precise and fast playing. Noticable during rehearsal.
I would have given it a 5 star, just the plug where your jack cable goes into is not good, it sits to tight and I have to fight to get it back out again. You can't just leave it as it will drain the battery. Battery that came with it was flat by the way and already inserted, so I don't think it was brand new.
But, the good things, setup was alright, a little bit sharp on two strings, but set to a low action already. tuners and other hardware is fine, Ibanez uses the same preamp throughout the series now. so this is good. The little switch is fun, series for me. Those powerspans pups are great, way better then the old types, I have had an ibanez before.
Bridge is good, quite heavy and easy to use. came with daddario strings, steel ones, I use nickel, but for steel these were the nicest ones I have felt.
And that colour? awesome. it looks so good and plays so nice, sounds good through a good amp.
For a starter or extra instrument as in my case, I sometimes need those extra frets, this one has the full two octaves.
look no further.
I'll just replace that jack socket and it'll be perfect.
Would you buy it? Well at this price you'll be hard pressed to find anythingh better. Maybe the Marcus miller bottom one. but that neck? that was the reasonj I got one. I have 5 basses, but just needed a soundgear again. This will go on stage together with my Stingray for when I need those high octaves.
So yes try one.

With this bass, for a small price, everyone can have fun.
Thanks to the active EQ system, you can set powerful highs for nice slaps or also extremely pressing basses for that certain gut feeling.
All in all, the bass is superbly crafted, the natural woods (neck, fretboard) are super smooth and give the instrument a super comfortable feel. The varnish on the body and head are also super finished and cleanly varnished. (No scratches, streaks, etc.) The only drawback were production residues on the jack input, but which could be easily removed with a little water and cotton swab.
In short:
Sound 5/5
Workmanship 5/5
Playing feel 5/5
Great what Ibanez has come up with in this product for the little man.
