The Hercules DJ Control Impulse 500 is a - for small money - quite high-quality processed device that leaves hardly any wishes unfulfilled. It offers real killer functions that allow great transitions and should therefore also be well suited for beginners. Also exemplary are the included software licenses DJUCED and Serato DJ Lite for both Windows and MAC. The DJUCED is a full version. Serato's program can be upgraded to the Pro version for an additional cost. Also, the device has numerous inputs and outputs. Very nice are also the two headphone outputs for small and large jacks. In order to be able to use several mics on the device, I connected an optional mini mixer, which works perfectly and can be controlled via the Impulse 500. Thanks to the built-in feet, the unit can be placed flat, upright or at an angle. What I would still wish for, however, is a suitable bag for transport. Otherwise, this device gets an absolute buy recommendation from me.
