As a user of a Boss GT100 for rehearsal room and stage I was looking for a multi-effect for practicing at home, which offers me comparable sounds. Always in the rehearsal room to practice was too cumbersome for me in the long run. And Zack.... I found the GT001! The operation is of course a bit fiddly. Sure..... Some pots and buttons are missing compared to the GT100..... But in combination with the Tone Software it's a dream and absolutely negligible. Over good headphones and also over my Marshall DSL the small box offers absolutely useful sounds and effects full. Also the connection to a DAW worked flawlessly. You even have the option to connect a microphone for vocals, etc.. Super! Had two years ago once the GT 1 for a while at home and sent back again. Not comparable and insignificantly cheaper. So.... If you are looking for a small, handy multi-effect with very good sound for your desk or living room..... Absolute purchase recommendation!!!

a hammer part. I owned the Boss ME-50 for 10 years and am totally surprised by the sound of the GT-1. At that time, the ME-50 was not a little more expensive. The biggest difference for me is the sound of the overdrive (OD-1): The GT-1 rocks! And also all the other effects with individual adjustment convince me. In addition, I bought an FS-5U footswitch - absolutely practical to be able to switch additional effects on and off. What I also like about the GT-1 is that you can not only assign the user patches individually, but also rename them freely. Only the size of the GT-1 may take some getting used to. It is "cute".

As with most devices in this class, too many sounds are unusable. You have to search for the usable ones - and you will find some. Editing is easy. The possibilities to create good sounds are good. All in all a usable device, too bad that there is no drum computer included.

The factory sounds sound mostly good and the operation of the device is simple and easy to understand. For practicing at home the board is ideal and for traveling it is lightweight and can also be operated very well over headphones. For the price you get a good and usable effect board, which reproduces the most common sounds. If that's not enough, you can also adjust the presets to your own needs.
