As a guitar lover who plays only for his own pleasure or in the family and friends, I am very satisfied with this guitar.
It is visually a treat and I could in terms of processing neither varnish nor other damage. The string action and playability are good and the sound is, in my opinion, beyond reproach. Using the reverb and chorus controls, I found a setting that fully meets my sonic expectations. The guitar has not yet been connected to an amplifier. The built-in sound amplification (TA function) has solved Yamaha excellent. I use almost exclusively this function. The rather frequent change of AA batteries (2 pieces) I gladly accept. For me, this guitar is worth the money!

I became aware of this guitar through an ad by Yamaha in a guitar magazine, there it says among other things: "You will not want to play any other guitar". Well, I thought, that's another one of those pithy advertising slogans, where there's not much substance behind it, but I got curious and had the device sent to me. I've had it for two weeks now and won't let it out of my hands. For the advanced guitarist, it offers new possibilities for sound optimization that were previously only accessible with the use of high-quality amplifier technology. Jazz is certainly only one of the areas where the TransAcoustic has its strengths, and I suspect there is plenty more to discover. It is simply unbelievable fun to play this instrument, and I have to say: Yamaha's saying (see above) hits the nail on the head.

A small note about the strings: the factory strings are Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light, which are not optimal for my taste ... for strumming it's o.k., but I don't need a transacoustic for that. I have a little less powerful RC148B from Dogal, they sound very nice transparent and sonorous in the basses, let's see ...
Amazing high quality guitar with very useful extra's! Try it, you will be amazed! I'm happy :-) !!

This great Yamaha LL-TA acoustic guitar is a high quality guitar in itself with some amazing extra's built in! I ordered it 2 days ago and have just received it already. High speed delivery, for free, thank you Kirstein!
Yes, it is a Trans-acoustic Yamaha as is the FS-TA, the FG-TA and even the classical CG-TA. The LL and the LS are the top models of these 4, the LS a little smaller, more feminine body, like an OOO but a little deeper I think.
However, not regarding the TA feature, the LL is an amazing guitar as it is, all beautifully grained solid tone woods and beautifully built and finished like guitars 4 - 5 times the price! Really! As an extra, it has an aged beautiful Engelmann Spruce top - solid - ARE treated, which means that the wood is dried in a special way, giving the same effect as a regular solid woods guitar top of a guitar which has been played and aged for about 50 - 60 years, like the famous pre-war Martins etc. You hear the difference directly: the wood is lighter than a new top which has not been treated this way and therefore vibrates much easier, giving a louder, deeper and warmer tone, yet very clear with excellent mids and highs.
Compared to the more usual Sitka Spruce top, Engelmann is lighter weight and less stiff than Sitka – this allows the top to vibrate more (limited of course by other factors – particularly binding). This, among other things, means that the overtones produced are stronger and richer than they are with Sitka spruce. It’s a more complex tone and the mids are stronger than Sitka too – giving a slightly smoother sound. It’s a less compressed sort of sound too because of those extra vibrations
Then the built quality of the neck!!!! Usually most good guitars have a mahogany neck. Some have some fortification built in, like ebony etc. The neck of this Yamaha LL guitar is a 5 ply neck, 5 layers of wood (Mahogany and Rosewood are used to make the neck as strong and stiff as possible.
All in all, an amazing guitar, beautiful, well built, well finished, high quality, e and a more than beautiful sound, easy neck to play, comfortable, very well set up already for a guitar just out of the case. It comes in a sturdy black lightweight case, much better than what I expected when I read "gig bag". No need to buy a case for this guitar!
Then as a very interesting and useful - fun! - extra, the LL has the Trans-acoustic system built in, for FREE! You can read all about it and see Youtube tests.... Nice small reverb, bigger hall reverb and even chorus which makes your guitar sound like an electrified 12-string - without any cables or amplifiers, just 2 little AA batteries, that's all! But you can also use it plugged in on line if you like, but no need. I won't do that....
If the guitar and/or my review raised your interest, check it out, have a look at a real LL-TA or LS-TA, (or the cheaper FG or classic CG-TA). You will be amazed.
About me: I play acoustic guitars, have about 15 of them, Martins D21, D35 D35S, 2 Collings, Yamaha FG2000 and FG630 12-string, 2 old Levin D models, a great 50's Kay and 2 classic guitars, although I play Bluegrass Music. So I can compare guitars.... This LL has it, fantastic choice for an amazing price!!!! Try it! Have fun playing guitar!!! Dennis

The Yamaha LL-TA is really cleanly processed, plays very easily and sounds in itself without electronics already very good (solid wood just). With the chorus and reverb possibilities arises a new sound pleasure, where you wonder how that is possible without external effects devices. So you can put a small audience in amazement. It is worth to have this part simply for at home on the couch. For the stage, for example, a pin point for the belt on the neck is missing. It will be interesting to see how long the electronics will work. (But after all, everything comes from China anyway). I am very impressed by the part, especially in comparison to Takamine EF341 and Breedlove D 25.
