Dieses Grand Pacific-Modell ist die erste von Taylors Round-Shoulder-Dreadnoughts mit Boden und Zargen aus massivem Ovangkol, einem afrikanischen Tonholz, das die Wärme und Brillanz von Rosenholz teil und durch zusätzliche Präsenz im mittleren Bereich überzeugt.
Die AD17e Blacktop ist mit einer massiven Fichtendecke bestückt und bietet eine Mischung aus Brillianz und cleaner Low-End-Power, die durch das V-Class-Bracing um mehr Lautstärke, längeres Sustain und einen besser abgestimmten Klang ergänzt wird. Dieser Vintage-Klang spiegelt sich auch im auffallend klassischen Look dieses Modells wider. Die AD17e Blacktop kommt mit einer schwarzen Decke und Boden & Zargen im wunderschönen Urban-Sienna-Finish.
Die AD17e Blacktop ist minimal dekoriert, aber hervorragend verarbeitet. Sie verfügt außerdem über abgeschrägte Korpuskanten aus gebeizter Fichte, eine Drei-Ring-Rosette aus hawaiianischem Koa und ein künstliches Schildpatt-Schlagbrett. Das 2,0 mm dünne matte Korpusfinish minimiert die Dämpfung für uneingeschränkte Resonanz. Die AD17e Blacktop wird in einem Taylor AeroCase geliefert.
