Das Soundcraft EPM 6 vereint Qualität, günstigen Preis und eine einfache Bedienoberfläche in drei Modellen. Bauteile mit niedrigen Toleranzen ermöglichen akkurate Einstellungen, die speziell beim Vorverstärker und Equalizer wichtig sind.
Das Soundcraft EPM Serie besitzt 6 Mono- und 2 Stereo-Kanäle. Erstmals in dieser Preisklasse wird das GB30 Vorverstärkerdesign verwendet, daß auch bei den Pulten der GB Serie zum Einsatz kommt. Diese Vorverstärker sind extrem übersteuerungsfest. Sie verfügen über einen Regelbereich von 55 dB und stellen +22 dB Headroom zur Verfügung. Eine Phantomspeisung versorgt Kondensatormikrofone jeden Typs mit echten +48 Volt.
Ein 3-Band Equalizer mit durchstimmbaren Mitten, zwei Aux Busse, Insertbuchsen für die Kanäle und die Summe, eine 10-fach LED Kette sowie professionelle XLR- und Klinkenbuchsen (Neutrik) komplettieren die umfangreiche Ausstattung.
Ein Schaltnetzteil ist integriert und die Netzkabelbuchse ist so angebracht, daß bei Rackmontage keine zusätzlichen Höheneinheiten berücksichtigt werden müssen. Das Soundcraft EPM 6 eignet sich für Live-Beschallungen, Festinstallationen sowie Recording-Anwendungen.

The decisive factor for me is that a mixer reduces the number of cables to be laid to the patchbay or audio interface to two cables (stereo) in my case. Having an accessible headphone output in the immediate vicinity of some devices is often very practical for me. In addition, it is very important for me to be able to integrate external effects (e.g. foot pedals) directly via the AUX paths or inserts.
I am completely satisfied with the build quality. Nothing wobbles here. I also don't notice any annoying noise, which is not a decisive factor when compared to some older synthesizers.
The exclusively top-mounted connections (except for the mains cable) are very practical for me. This makes spontaneous cabling much easier. Installation in a small transport case for mobile use is also greatly facilitated, as the device can be used immediately after removing the case lid. I rarely use the EQs, so they were not my main decision criterion.
It should be mentioned that the mains plug connection is located underneath the housing and there is no mains switch. In my case, switching off/on is done via a central switch.
