If you are looking for a say stable, yet gentle micro clamp for your cylindrical microphone(s) with a diameter of 19-21 mm, you should NOW QUICKLY buy this older clamp model from Beyer. The base of the clamp, which is made in Liechtenstein, is made of metal. The hinge escapement is relatively strong and not changeable, but indestructible.
The current successor clamp from Beyer is made almost entirely of plastic.
Other alternatives are unfortunately worse:
Shure A57F: cheap, clunky, lots of plastic, relatively poor workmanship, only Ø 20-21 mm,
AKG SA 60: more expensive and more plastic, but cover a wide range from Ø 18-27 mm.
TIP: If you want the MKV-9's tilt joint to move more easily, adding a TINY drop of bicycle chain oil to the top of the hinge (left and right) can lower the escapement - for the sake of the sensitive condenser mic.
Anyone who needs the clamp should buy it NOW from stock.
