With the PDI-20 you can convert high-impedance, unbalanced audio signals into balanced, low-impedance signals. This allows you to transfer signals from sources with jack plugs - for example, an electric guitar, bass guitar or keyboard - to devices with a balanced XLR input - for example, a mixing console.

In addition to the balanced XLR output, the passive DI box from Pronomic also has an unbalanced output jack socket that you can use to connect to an amplifier. Here, the unbalanced input signal is then passed on directly to the likewise unbalanced output socket.

Signal adjustment of the input level

Input signals with a high level - for example from a keyboard - can be reduced by 20 dB or 40 dB using a selector switch.

Stereo/mono operation

In stereo mode, both signals pass through the device separately. If you switch to mono, both signals are coupled (for example, to bundle a stereo signal to a mono signal).

Ground Lift Switch

With the Ground Lift switch you can disconnect the ground connection of the XLR signals to avoid ground loops.

Passive DI Box

Passive DI boxes do not require a supply voltage and have no preamplifiers. Therefore they provide a better audio signal than their active relatives.
