The IP56 protection class indicates the suitability of the McGrey OLS-5251 for outdoor use. The so-called IP code (International Protection Code) indicates the suitability of an electronic device at certain temperatures, humidity, vapors, dust and other conditions. The IP56 protection code means that the OLS-5251 is protected against strong jets of water and that the casing also offers complete protection against contact. Furthermore, dust, even in normally damaging quantities, cannot harm this device.

The OLS-5251 outdoor speaker can be connected to all conventional hi-fi and PA amplifiers, and there is also the option of operating the speaker on ELA systems with either 70 or 100 volts.
