My granddaughter (9) will do well with it. She will get the 1/2 violin including shoulder rest at Christmas, now that she has outgrown the 1/4 violin. The previous shoulder rest on the quarter violin doesn't really hold well, so I'm glad that this KUN rest grips better and won't fall off at the slightest movement.
