Die elektroakustische GPC-X2E verfügt über eine satinierte Fichtendecke mit einer eleganten Rosette mit Abalone-Muster und einen auffälligen HPL-Boden und -Zargen mit Cocobolo-Muster für zusätzliche Haltbarkeit und Optik, ohne auf den klassischen Martin-Sound zu verzichten. Zu den Verbesserungen der Bespielbarkeit gehören ein dünneres Griffbrett mit einer sanft abgeschrägten Griffbrettkante und einem verfeinerten Saitenabstand sowie eine modernisierte Stegkontur für ein geschmeidiges und komfortables Spielerlebnis.
Die Korpusgröße der Grand Performance sorgt für einen projizierten, ausgewogenen Ton mit zusätzlichen Bässen, und ein Cutaway erleichtert den Zugang zu den höchsten Bünden. Die GPC-X2E Cocobolo verfügt außerdem über einen Hals, ein Griffbrett und einen Steg aus ausgesuchtem Hartholz sowie eine Martin E-1-Elektronik mit eingebautem chromatischem Tuner und Lautstärke-, Ton- und Phasenreglern.

The guitar arrived on time in the accompanying gig bag in the unopened original Martin box, packed again in another box.
Cleanly finished and immediately ready to play. The built-in tuner is a nice feature, the pickup works. Even unamplified, the guitar has a decent volume and is simply fun to play.
I play both Martins every day and am completely happy with them.
Visually, the striking cocobolo grain of the back of my guitar differs from the frequently shown product photos in that the light areas are missing. My first spontaneous thought: oops, wrong instrument delivered.
If you do a bit of searching online, you will find pictures on which the light areas of the grain are significantly larger. I am very happy with my copy after all. However, if you are interested in this model because of its special look, you should be aware of the possibilities and buy it in a store rather than online.
