Roland/BOSS offers two types of sturdy metal footswitches for different applications. The FS-5U (silver) is a momentary "unlatch"-type footswitch, and the FS-5L (black) is a latch-type footswitch with an LED to indicate status. Expensive but.......... BOSS quality.
To operate the looper precisely (and more logically), an additional pedal is very helpful. My pedals (channel switching on the amp) are not precise enough. One time these plastic things work and then again not exactly. That's annoying when looping. Yes, and this button is nice too. And stable to the power of 3.
