Bereits bei der Fertigung der Byzance Vintage Modelle wird der Alterungsprozess der Becken simuliert, um den besonderen Klangcharakter zu erzeugen. Entstanden ist die Serie als Erweiterung des mit Meinl Artist Benny Greb entwickelten Sand Rides. Sie umfasst eine breite Palette an Becken, die zur Entstehung des einzigartigen Meinl-Sounds beigetragen haben.
Die Sand Modelle verfügen über eine Narrow Blade Abdrehung und ihr beliebtes, sandgestrahltes Finish, während die Vintage Pure Modelle nicht abgedreht werden und ihre raue Oberfläche haben.
