Die Instrumente der Höfner Ignition Special Edition (SE) orientieren sich an den Höfner Violin Bässen aus den 1970ern. Im Gegensatz zur Contemporary-Reihe haben die Ignition Bässe einen hohlen Resonanzkorpus. Neben dem klassischen Kontroll-Panel mit Tea Cup Potis sind sie mit einem Holzsteg und Trapez-Saitenhalter ausgestattet und tragen das traditionelle Höfner-Logo auf dem Korpus. Alle Ignitions (SE) werden mit einem Echtheitszertifikat und dem legendären BASSMAN-Sticker geliefert.

The bass is a beauty, but it has a number of details in the finish that require an additional review by your trusted luthier. It needs to be adjusted with the allen wrenches on the instrument. The ON/OFF button is mounted backwards and turns on with OFF. I have replaced the plastic bridge on the headstock with a bone bridge which significantly improves the tuning. I have also found it a good thing to replace the standard strings with others of my choice. After these operations you are left with a beautiful "sixty" bass with a very convincing performance. It weighs little and is comfortable to play.

After I first had to send the bass back because the neck - adjustment was not correct and the bass rattled, I have received it back to complete satisfaction. I can only say that the bass gives off a super sound. It is great to play and most importantly, it is very light because the body is hollow. No comparison in relation to the weight of my other basses.
