Vintage Icon Series V6HMRSB - Retoure (Zustand: sehr gut)

It is not my 1st guitar from the house Vintage. I already have a Les Paul single-cut model and can only say that this guitar is absolutely and impeccably processed. Soundwise an original Gibson Les Paul in nothing inferior. At least not mine, which I could compare extensively in the A/B test, but the Paula is not the point now. - I am not sponsored by Kirstein or Vintage for my report.....that in advance.

About the Strat.

Besides my main guitar - which is also a Strat model - I needed a cheap second guitar. And my choice immediately went in the direction of the Vintage brand. Because I can only write from experience - I have already had many of these guitars in hand - it's worth it. I can only recommend to everyone to do an A/B comparison with a product from a more upscale company in a store. There it is quite clear at the price / performance ratio where you should decide. It must not always "F...../G...../etc. stand on the headstock.

The workmanship of the frets, joints, hardware were very well done on the guitar. I did not find any rough edges. OK, the artificial aging that this instrument has undergone is a matter of taste - there is usually some dispute about this. I don't mind it, on the contrary the guitar feels immediately familiar. The string action was very good and set low, there was nothing to complain about. I did not find any deadspots either. The strings sound in every fret without buzzing. Here, too, the workmanship is top. With your 3.4 kg it is well balanced for me. Not too heavy not too light.

The sound of the guitar is in the unamplified state already very warm and powerful. Here I was already pleasantly surprised. The tremolo springs sound a little bit after, depending on how you pick the strings, but this can be quickly remedied. There are various ways to dampen the springs. At the amp I was also pleasantly surprised. From brute sounds to blues, funk Mr. Knopfler & Co. everything is feasible. The single coils hum a little when I play distorted, in the intermediate positions is gone. But that is the nature of single coils. When turning down the volume pot, the treble is unfortunately lost, here you can remedy with a treble pad (capacitor). The playability is in comparison to my other guitars in nothing inferior.

The tremolo system I have shut down, since it does not work despite graphite saddle tuning stable. There are more perfect systems from other companies that work absolutely tuning stable.

Again, for the price the absolute madness. And of course, with this guitar (alder body, maple neck) you have a solid base to upgrade better pickups, tuners, etc. But honestly - it's not really a good idea. But honestly - it's really not necessary.

How much would this guitar cost if it was not made in Vietnam, but in the UK, Japan or USA.

Conclusion: Workmanship - top, weight super, sound - top, factory setting top, playability - top, price-performance - top

Well packaged and super fast delivery. This guitar was very well set up on delivery. The string height and intonation were perfectly adjusted and there were no sharp edges on the frets. The vintage look is very well done and not overdone. There are also no problems with the action. The volume, tone control and toggle-switch feel stable and the guitar feels good in the hand. It also has a very comfortable weight. The sound is surprisingly good, the Wilkinson humbuckers handle distortion superbly, very fat without too much treble. The other pickup positions are all very playable, very Strat-like but warmer. For this price, I think this guitar is unbeatable. I have used it live and also for recording. It's one of the best sounding guitars I have and it's fun to play. It is definitely NOT! just a beginner's instrument, the sound and playability extend well into the professional class.
