Seit 1961 ist die legendäre Casino die meistverkaufte Archtop von Epiphone und ein Rock 'n' Roll-Standard. Die 1961 eingeführte Casino war nur eine von mehreren neuen Thinline-Archtops, die in der neuen Fabrik in Kalamazoo, Michigan, die Epiphone mit dem ehemaligen Konkurrenten und neuen Partner Gibson teilte, entwickelt und produziert wurden.
Die Casino wurde von Keith Richards von den Rolling Stones übernommen, der eine Casino benutzte, um das Demo für "Satisfaction" bei Chess Records in Chicago aufzunehmen. Howlin' Wolf nahm ein Casino mit auf seine erste Tournee durch Großbritannien, wo er auf Thank Your Lucky Stars auftrat. Kurz darauf kauften John Lennon und George Harrison Casinos für die Welttournee der Beatles 1966. Ausgestattet mit Dogear PRO P-90 Tonabnehmern und einem Korpus aus 5-lagigem Ahorn.
