Höfner Club Ignition HI-CB-SB Sunburst - 1A Showroom Modell (Zustand: wie neu, in OVP)

The bass sounds great and also plays well - for me as a die-hard guitarist, the short scale length is very pleasant!!!

But I immediately made a few small changes to optimize sound and playability: for example, the round-wound strings replaced by gold flat-wounds from Pyramid, so that he sounds even more like an "upright bass". However, I had to order these strings - oh shame - from the competitor Thomann, sorry.
Then I adjusted the bridge a bit with sandpaper (put sandpaper on the top and move the bridge back and forth) to the curve of the arched top, so that the power also comes across on the body. Then adjusted the bridge to the right height and placed the mini adjuster for the B-string on the bridge one step further towards the tailpiece. Voila!

Visually everything is super processed and very nice - except for the much too white pearloid of the pickguard. Had read before the purchase that many criticized the color, I found silly at the time. Now that I see it in real - guys, is really not so great. (I bought a blank that matches the color perfectly, and now I just have to cut it to size. The rest is enough for another pickguard ;-)
Some people even exchange the electronics for the Hoyer original. But I won't go that far. But the bridge I will now also replace with a slightly better processed with two feet.

But for the price you really can't complain now!!! Thanks for the great part!
