Gewa Pianobank Deluxe Mahagoni matt - Retoure (Zustand: sehr gut)

As an experienced piano player, I have already experienced many piano benches and was curious to see how high quality the comparatively inexpensive Gewa piano bench is made.

I was immediately surprised by the solidity of the rotary mechanism; this is definitely not the cheap sheet metal of the "budget benches". I think this mechanism tends to be built to last. One can overlook the fact that the handles are quite difficult to turn; this is only for delicate (children's) hands possibly problematic.

The choice of materials and workmanship of the frame are also impeccable. The surface (in this case mahogany matt) is cleanly painted, for me no manufacturing defects detectable. When assembling, you should make sure that the bench does not tilt; to do this, screw one or two legs not yet completely tight, place the bench on a flat surface and tighten the screws only when all legs are on the ground.
The included wrench is more of a makeshift; to really tighten the screws (which I highly recommend!), you need a proper tool. But this is common with piano benches in all price ranges.

The only point of criticism (and therefore only four stars): The upholstery.
At least the red velour cover seems very cheap in material and color. The foam is thin and thus the seat quite hard. That (but only that!) The cheap benches from Classic Cantabile can clearly better.

Nevertheless, this is a very decent bench with a good price / performance ratio. It will certainly not wobble or creak as quickly as the cheap competition and thus the purchase is quite recommendable in this price range.

NB - General advice: tighten all screws on all benches from time to time. This will increase the life and stability of the bench.

The Gewa piano bench completely meets my expectations: a professional, easy to assemble (just screw the legs), piano bench, comfortable, easily adjustable in height, good quality.

The functionality is good and the piano bench is easy to assemble. Unfortunately, the workmanship is not very high quality. There were several paint damages on the wood or the wood was slightly damaged in parts. Overall satisfactory.
